Valentines Day Gifts

Are guys supposed to get gifts for Valentine’s Day? I can’t remember if I’ve ever received any actual gifts besides cards. I know the only thing a guy really wants for Valentine’s Day is what I want every day I’m in a relationship - and every day I’m not for that matter. You can probably guess what that is. So going back a few posts ago, maybe it’s the girl who should buy lingerie as the guy’s gift.

These Vermont Teddy Bear stores are in malls everywhere, although I’ve yet to set foot in one. It always seemed like it would be a lot of effort. But looking through their website, apparently you can buy bears that are already pre-made so you don’t have to be too creative. Being that I failed art class, and I’m lazy, that’s probably the way I would go if I was giving this as a gift. Like the one below…

Not thoughtful enough? Ah, well, screw it I tried. Oh wait, I supposed I took the easy way out. Ok, maybe I’ll design one when the time comes.

Are flowers a good gift for Valentines Day? Or is it one of those things where it’s kind of half-expected so it really doesn’t win you any points? And because it’s half-expected, does that mean you should do it anyway?

And are roses the right flowers to buy? Or does it depend on what the girl likes? And what do the different colors mean?

Well, I found some answers at Online Dating Magazine. Interesting stuff. Apparently there are three different hues of pink - all of which have different meanings.

How do you feel about giving lingerie for a Valentines Day gift? Maybe it depends on the type of girl you’re with, and the stage of the relationship.

Might not be the best idea if you’ve been together a week. And of course, you don’t want the reaction of, “Is this all I mean to you?” Hmmm, maybe it’s not the best idea at all.

But…what if you mixed in the lingerie with some type of romance package? I’ve seen a few companies do these romance packages, the most recent of which is at BoutiqueRomantica.com. Genius idea. I’m sure you could find some with candles, candies, flowers, or massage oils. Hell, you could even throw in a nice little favors coupon book.

Personally I’ve seen a bunch of these picture enlargements. Basically, what Canvas on Demand does is take a picture, enlarge it, and turn it into a painting / picture on a canvas. When opening the package, typical reaction ranges anywhere from “wow” to trembling and tears. This would be a perfect Valentine’s Day for anybody really, but especially for moms. Or it could even be a great anniversary gift.
