Lotions, Bubble bath, and a “Strip Chocolate Board Game for Lovers” - oh my!

Both of these gift baskets are pretty expensive, but I’m guessing the memories will last a lifetime.

So I know this idea sounds a little corney, but who cares, have fun with it. The idea is that instead of celebrating only on Valentine’s Day, why not build up to it for a week? Start on Feb. 7, or exchange cards or small gifts on that date, and present something each day until the 14th.

Personally, I think the smaller the gestures the better because they will surprise that special someone you love without making them feel that they have to return the favor. Just keep it sweet and simple. Maybe start by slipping a Valentine into your honey’s pocket. Or sending an e-card telling them how much you mean to them.

You can also choose chocolate. Put a chocolate on their pillow in the morning or send a candy bouquet. Even passing sexy love notes will romance your special someone. Of course you can end big on the 14th but having those little gestures for the whole week would make my heart melt.

There are a bunch of websites out there that sell chocolates. One of them I saw stumbled upon today is called LakeChamplainChocolates.com. They have everything from chocolate bars to chocolate gift baskets, and all of it looks extremely rich. Mmmmm, delicious.

Wow, did you read how Sweetest Day was started? Apparently a bunch of candy companies in Cleveland decided to create a day or week to try to sell more candy. It wasn’t as successful as they had hoped, but it’s still somewhat popular in Michigan and Ohio. But I’m guessing most people have never heard of it other places. Until today of course - thanks Hot Chick.

How can you pass up an opportunity to eat some candy? It’s like going to the movies - you feel like you have to get at least a box of chocolate covered cookie dough. And it’s not unhealthy because you’re at the movies - and it’s not unhealthy because it’s sweetest day. That’s logical, right?

So I was taking a look at some Valentines Day gift candies out there and found some interesting stuff. Anybody can get a normal can-you-guess-whats-inside-please-god-i-hope-its-not-coconut box of chocolates, but at Candy4U.com, you can buy both a candy bra and a candy g-string - seriously.

Slogans for both of those say “for hours of fun at a time”. Umm, hours? Won’t you get sick if you eat candy for hours at a time?

Damn, Hot Chick, that seems like a lot of work. I was done writing poems after I failed my Spanish poetry class in college. Can they at least give me a poem so I wouldn’t have to come up with something lame? By the way, you gotta love greeting cards right - for all of us that are too lazy or lack the creativity to come up with original thoughts. You walk into the drug store, look at the cards, and decide, “hmmmm, that sounds like something I might say”. Then you give it to your girlfriend - “here you go, I paid $2 for this.” If that’s not love, what is? (Yes, I know that joke was ripped off from Jim Gaffigan stand-up - “Hot Pockets”.)

Anyway, couldn’t you make it a little easier on us guys? Pulling out the credit card is usually about as creative as I get. So for guys like me, how about a Valentines Day gift basket?

There are many to choose from. Could be cute, sexy, or even for your little kids. And minimal effort.
