Valentines Day Gifts

I can’t believe that in that rambling on about movies and sports bars and Hooters, you actually think I made a valid point. Sweet - I’ll pat myself on the back for that one. However, I’ll try not to sound so bitter this time.

I ran across a site today called FrameMyPhotos.com. It takes a your photos and digitally frames them so it’s easy to send out for Christmas cards, Birthday Invitations, Birth Announcements - really any reason you can possibly have for sending photos either on the web or the actual physical photo. The cost is next to nothing too - looks like some pretty cool software.

You could send this custom photo gift along with your e-card in the morning, flowers in the afternoon, dinner at night, and you have a nice little day planned.

How would you like to have a picture of your loved one on your blanket or duvet cover? Or even on a pillow or shower curtain? I found a website called FotoBed.com where they put a picture on pretty much anything you can think of.

Now, maybe it’s a tad bit conceited to buy your significant other a picture of yourself on Valentines Day, but maybe you could put a picture of both of you on a duvet cover. Or if you have kids, maybe you can put a picture of the kids on the pillows. Could also work for pets or even loved ones who have passed away.

Since Clueless Guy and I seem to be talking about saving memories, I came up with another way to do just that. I have always wanted a video camcorder. It’s a great way to capture, say….. the sunset or a romantic vacation. Or…. well, I won’t go into detail about other possible uses, but I’m sure all you guys out there can imagine the endless possibilities.

Plus, if you have a couple of little ones, it’s a great way to capture their first steps or even first words. Not to mention the goofy tricks your pets will do.

Awesome, a top ten list! Now, I know Ace Ventura: Pet Detective is going to be on there, right? I mean, you can’t have any movie top ten list without Ace. That would just be blasphemous. #1, right?

Thinking about the clear favorite to take the inaugural Hot Chick Top Ten Valentines Day Movie List got me to thinking about a different kind of gift you can buy for your special someone on Valentines Day. Ace loved saving animals and the special perks that go along with it (In the jungle, the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight).

Maybe your special lady has been bugging you about adopting a little doggy or kitty and you’ve been noncommittal. You know you’d give in if she pressed hard enough, but you just don’t know if you want to take the time walking it or scooping out litter or training it. So you kind of avoid the conversation if it all possible. Sound familiar? Well, on Valentines Day, do something right, do something for her - save an animal from the animal shelter. You’ll save a life, your pet will end up being part of the family, and you might even get the special perks like Ace.

We all know that Sweetest Day is rounding the corner so I thought in honor of it I would help all of you with a simple, yet romantic for the ladies, idea. I, myself, try not to make a big deal of it since guys think it is even more of a Hallmark holiday than Valentine’s Day…. but I can’t help but be a tiny bit sad while watching all those commercials.

These Sentimental Message bottles are a very sweet idea and it will still keep you at a low budget. You can create your own message or for you guys out there that seem to think you’re not very creative, you can choose a message already created for you. Either way I think your special someone will get a kick out of it and not feel so left out. Happy Sweetest Day!

Ok, so I realize that this idea might not be the most romantic one, but definitely unique… not to mention perfect for fun couples just starting out. Think about it this way, you’re a new couple and it’s your first Valentine’s Day. You’re both nervous about gift ideas for each other and let’s face it… most guys think of this day as a Hallmark holiday anyway, so why not make it fun and creative!

All you need to do is send in your photo along with an idea for the scene and these artists will do the rest. It’s that simple. Plus, this gift is perfect for anyone, and for all ages. It’s a nice way to make a somewhat intense holiday into some fun!

Tip: If you are in fact getting this gift for your signifant other, you might want to make sure you’re both on the same page on gift ideas. I’d hate to be the reason you guys spend the night in the dog house because your gift wasn’t romantic enough.

These Vermont Teddy Bear stores are in malls everywhere, although I’ve yet to set foot in one. It always seemed like it would be a lot of effort. But looking through their website, apparently you can buy bears that are already pre-made so you don’t have to be too creative. Being that I failed art class, and I’m lazy, that’s probably the way I would go if I was giving this as a gift. Like the one below…

Not thoughtful enough? Ah, well, screw it I tried. Oh wait, I supposed I took the easy way out. Ok, maybe I’ll design one when the time comes.
