I came across another interesting comment left on our blog recently, as well. Remember having….. or you still may have like myself, the cool lava lamps and retro glitter lights that would stay on all night? I would stay mezmorized just watching the lights. LumiGram, offers the same kind of unique idea and is a perfect decoration for the special holiday.
This luminous heart pillow will stay lit all night — its included batteries will keep that fiber optic fire burning for 10 hours.
Someone sent us a comment a few days ago saying he saw a New York Times article about a company called PhotoFiddle. So I took a look at the site, and it seems like it would be a great idea for a Valentines Day gift. PhotoFiddle takes your pictures and turns them into an oil painting, with a bunch of different options. Anything from black and white, kaleidescope, colored squares, film negative strips, or even collage, which is depicted below (not so well - I think they’re careful about people stealing images). It’s a pretty cool site - would be perfect for couples.
I’ve started realizing more and more as time goes by, that the art of vintage is becoming more of a part of today’s style. The pastel colors, vintage jewlry, and iron rod accents may have once seemed old and decrepit, but are now antique and exquisite forms of decor.
The back to life vintage decor can be a lovely gift for any woman who enjoys antique jewelry, wall art, and/or photography. Out with the old…… and in with the antique!
Remember the old atari systems and games? Yes, I realize it’s going back a few years but I remember how much fun i had, not to mention how many hours I put in.
I don’t realize how fun the old school systems were until they keep coming out with newer systems.
My ultimate goal this Valentine’s Day? To convince my significant other to get me the 2-in-1 Nintendo Nes/SNes system. Not to mention the few necessary games like the Super Mario Series, Mario kart, Dr. Mario, and Donkey Kong….. all my addictions!
In the past, I’ve talked about candles, but how about romantic incense? It’s a great way to romanticize your home or bedroom. Romanticize?? Is that even a word? I believe it is but if’ it’s not, I have now created it. Yes, romanticize your home, and well, even your intimate life. YUMMMMM!
If you’re like me though, you like a little bit of feng shui in your life and incense is a great topper for the perfect shui home. There are so many scents and burner set ups that you can colaberate pretty easily with the current decor of your home or bedroom.
And, I’ve even been told that incense is often the perfect afrodisiac. That’s definitely something you can’t go wrong with for this Valentine’s Day and night.
I’ve been told by Hot Chick, female relatives, women I’ve dated, female friends, and all other female acquaintances that, believe it or not, women like jewelry. I know, I know. I’m giving you an earth-shattering revelation about women. You can thank me later. But with so many jewelry stores out there, where do you go? And for that matter, do you shop online or in the store? Personally, I hate going to malls, and when I’m shopping at any brick-and-mortar jewelry store, I get the feeling that a nice chunk of my purchase is going to the slick well-dressed sales rep.
So I’d rather go to a place online that doesn’t have the overhead. But there are about a million jewelry store sites out there. I did a quick search on Google for “gold jewelry”, and I found a site called Applesofgold.com. They have a very simple site to navigate, and it looks like they specialize in gemstone jewelry, gold jewelry, and a ton of diamond jewelry.
I’m sure they have other stuff that women like too - an absolutely huge collection - over 2500 pages indexed, so I’m guessing around 2500 products. That’s just nuts.
Check this out. I think I found the perfect Valentines Day gift for the golfer. Golfballs.com has come out with an easy way to create personalized golf balls. How cool would it be to get golf balls with your name on it? Or some sort of personal double entendre message like “Hit it Hard Baby” or “Keep it Straight” or “Put it in the Hole” or…well, I could go on forever. Actually, not only can you personalize golf balls, but also hats, towels, bags, and shirts. Great Valentines or Fathers Day gift.
I saw a press release today for a company called Lobster Gram, where it says that their products would make great…Valentines Day Gifts? Really, a lobster gram?
I mean, I can understand getting one of those for another event in February, Super Bowl Sunday, but I’m not so sure about Valentines Day. Well, I guess if someone is a a huge lobster / seafood fan. And their Valentines package does have a heart-shaped cake.
I know I’m not the movie critic that Hot Chick is, and I’m probably not going to make a top ten list anytime soon. However, I do have to to recommend the movie I saw last night, Juno. Roger Ebert rated it as one of his top movies of 2007, and everyone I talked to said it was awesome. ImdB users already had it in the top 200 movies of all-time. I can definitely understand why. It was by far the most well-written, well-acted movie I’ve seen in a long time. Ellen Page absolutely carries the movie all the way through. You’ve probably seen the previews. It’s about a high-school girl (Page) who oops gets pregnant, but instead of getting the shmishmortion, she decides to go through the pregnancy and ridicule in school and give it away for adoption to a perfect yuppie couple played by Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner. Hmmm, what else can I tell you without giving stuff away? Not sure - just go see it - one day it will make Hot Chick’s top ten list. And I really hope Page becomes a star - great delivery, very funny.
Do you ever go through your photo albums and think that you just can’t get enough of seeing your favorite candids? There’s been some photos I have of family or friends that I know I could just stare at all day.
And, better yet…… I could stare at my favorite photo while staying all warm and cozy. Ah yes……. a photo blanket. It’s actually a neat idea and one that’s for anyone. The neat thing is that TreasureKnit offers not only blankets, but pillows, bags, collages, and even towels.
Clueless Guy and Hot Chick are searching the web far and wide to find the perfect gifts. Leave a comment or email us at valentinesdaygiftsblog@gmail.com to give us some ideas.
